Brene Brown states, “I define a leader as anyone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes, and who has the courage to develop that potential.” This is my definition of a leader as well, and as Head of Research and Instruction, I excel at identifying and maximizing the strengths of a team to consistently bring dynamic and cutting-edge librarianship for student and faculty success. As a leader and a teaching librarian my focus is on campus-wide initiatives to infuse information literacy skills at every level of academic courses.
As Head of Research and Instruction services, I plan, delegate, and facilitate departmental goals, and provide leadership in setting and communicating priorities. Leadership, librarianship, and teaching are my passions. In these I excel at adopting and sharing new, evidence-based pedagogies that empower students for academic success and lifelong learning. I am committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of higher education. My research reflects my dedication to adopting and sharing best practices of research, teaching, and academic excellence.
My strengths reside in my versatility in teaching and my steadfast commitment to adopting new technologies and processes that empower students. I teach both synchronous and asynchronous classes utilizing Blackboard to embed information literacy modules customized to fit the needs of students in their individual courses. Whether at the research desk, or online in scheduled research consultation, student and faculty success is my primary goal.
